Immunization/Medical Information

Below are important documents outlining California immunization requirements and other medical information.

Dress Code, Uniform, and Denim Day

St. John's seeks to create a school environment that promotes learning and discipline. To help achieve these goals, and for a variety of compelling reasons further outlined in the SJLS Student and Parent Handbook, school uniforms are mandatory.

School uniforms are required apparel and are available from the Lands' End Uniform Catalog. Another option is to purchase accepted items from the French Toast brand that you can find at local stores. See the detailed uniform guide linked below for accepted items. P.E. uniforms for students in grades 5-8 must be purchased from Dennis Uniform Company.

St. John's School Code for Dennis Uniform Company is: LA00IJ

St. John's School Code for Lands' End is: 9000-3191-5

Student and Parent Handbook

St. John's Lutheran School provides hot lunches prepared fresh on-site daily. Monthly lunch menus are prepared in advance and are available on the school website.
Lunch orders can only be made through Sycamore and must be placed by 11:59 p.m. the day prior to the desired lunch. Lunch options are available both with meat and without. Emergency lunches are available.
Hot lunch is provided though NV Catering services. Prices range from $6.50 and up, with regular and vegetarian options. Each lunch comes with an entree, side item, dessert and choice of water or milk. There is an option to add an additional entree at an extra cost.

Students have the choice of bringing lunch from home or purchasing the school prepared lunch. Nutritionally balanced lunches and snacks are important to help students maintain focus throughout the day, therefore, we discourage highly processed, prepackaged, or fast food. Microwave ovens are not available for preparing individual student lunches.

Financial Aid

St. John's provides tuition assistance to desiring families with demonstrated financial need. Families must apply through an intermediate agency before the school year begins and award amounts are based on the information determined through this agency. Families desiring financial assistance need to apply by May 15th.
SJLS does not require parent volunteer hours. However, it is requested for families that receive financial aid to volunteer for ABA, our annual auction and dinner, and/or the annual golf tournament. These are the fundraising opportunities that provide scholarship dollars annually.  Available scholarship awards are directly tied to the success of these two events.
